Building Permit
When a building permit is required
Before commencing any building or construction work, changing the use of a building or its portions, or performing work on electrical, gas, mechanical, or plumbing systems regulated by the adopted codes, owners or their authorized agents must apply for and obtain a building permit. Some exemptions may apply—please contact the Building Official for details (stevek@utahcounty.gov)

Inspection Scheduling
Request inspections when the work is ready and before it is concealed. To prepare, refer to the required inspections list provided with your permit.
When scheduling an inspection, have your permit number, inspection type, project location, and contact information ready. Please provide up to 3 days' advance notice for inspection requests and plan accordingly.
