CDBG

Community Development Block Grant funds administered by Utah County assist low-to-moderate-income residents countywide.

What is the Community Development Block Grant?

The Community Development Block Grant, or CDBG, is a program which was authorized in 1974 to help local governments best meet the needs of low-to-moderate-income individuals and families with greater flexibility than federal administration. Utah County has received this funding from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development since 2011, and uses it to improve affordability, mobility, health, and safety of the local community.

What Projects are Eligible for Subrecipient Funding?

CDBG-funded activities must meet eligibility requirements from HUD. Such activities may include public facilities/infrastructure, housing activities, and public services. An eligible activity must also meet one of the HUD-recognized national objectives and be aligned with Utah County's Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan.

Who is Eligible?

Those who receive assistance through Utah County CDBG programs must be low-to-moderate-income residents living in areas within Utah County excluding Eagle Mountain, Lehi, Orem, and Provo; these areas all receive their own CDBG funding.
